Marianne Csaky

Marianne Csáky’s art encompasses photography-based works, video animations, sculptures, drawings, objects, lightboxes, and installations. Through these diverse mediums, she delves into themes such as inherited and internalized narratives, individual and collective memory, the fluid boundaries between cultures, the various political systems of historical eras, and the possibility of rewriting both the past and the present, as well as the realities embedded in images. She exhibits regularly in Hungary and abroad, and her works are held in numerous private and public collections both nationally and internationally. She has lived in China and participated in residency programs in France, Germany, the United States, and South Korea. In 2024 she was an artist-in-residence at the prestigious WIELS Contemporary Art Centre in Brussels. She currently lives and works in both Brussels and Budapest.
