INDA Gallery’s programme reflects an expansive understanding of contemporary art, encompassing painting, photography, and video, as well as installation and sculpture that engage a wide range of materials and technical processes. For this year’s Art and Antique fair, we present a selection of painting, small-scale sculpture, and tapestry. In the latter, traditional weaving techniques enter into a productive dialogue with emerging digital technologies.

The presentation brings together works by MÁRTA CZENE, ISTVÁN CSORBA-SIMON, ALEXANDRA DEMENTIEVA, GÁBOR HORVÁTH, LÁSZLÓ KARÁCSONYI, ANTAL JÁNOS KAZINCZY, GERGŐ KOVÁCH, HENRIK MARTIN, BARBARA NAGY, and ZSÓFIA SCHWÉGER. While diverse in medium and approach, the selected works operate simultaneously within a contemporary discursive framework and in active conversation with the established aesthetic languages of art history and our broader visual heritage. Several works extend beyond the boundaries of fine art, creating points of intersection with other domains of visual culture.

A number of the artists employ humor and irony as critical strategies. Rather than undermining the gravity of their subjects, these gestures function as analytical tools, sharpening perception and enabling layered interpretations of complex themes.
